Kyoko is Famous!

Kyoko, a Japanese Bob Tail cat that I had the privilege of photographing (along with her two other cat siblings), was published in the Washington Post Weekend Section this weekend.  A small version of one of the images from the sessions shows up in the “What’s Happening in 2008” weekend section to draw attention to the Cat Show that will be here in September.

Congratulations Kyoko!

Here’s the full version of the image:

Sweet Kodi

Kodi was adopted from a DC Shelter and now lives in a wonderful and loving home.  She is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve photographed and definitely has the most bandana’s.  Her owners were great fun to work with and the house was decorated with lots of color and fun designs to use as backgrounds.  The goal of the session was to capture Kodi’s sweet personality, and to create a family photo as well as a variety of images with Kodi and her owners.  We worked both indoors and outdoors.  Below are a few favorites from the session.

Here is Kodi’s family.  I’d say she got pretty lucky to find such great owners.Kodi and family

OK, this next one is Kodi putting up with our desire to use this silly toy.  Thanks for your patience, Kodi.

When I saw their feet together like this, I had to take the image.  Here it is with a slight image-effect applied to it.Just the feet

And finally, we chose Kodi as the subject for our Washingtonian ad for July – here is the ad:

Sadie, The Wonder Lab

We had a wonderful session with a yellow lab named Sadie and her owner, Jennifer.  The main goal of the session was to capture Sadie’s playfulness and exuberance in a natural setting.  A secondary goal was to document the close relationship Sadie and Jennifer have.  The body parts and fun images inside were just a bonus.  We did a little bit of everything and had a great time.  Below are not only some of the images from the session, but how they will be framed to be displayed.  Of course, Sadie always wears her collar, but we made an exception for picture day.  Also, on a side note, Jennifer is a volunteer with a lab rescue group and fosters labs while they are waiting for find homes.

A little bit of work, a little bit of play (at the Olde Towne Pet Resort)

Sample images from OTPR May 2008 event

We typically work at people’s homes where the pet is most comfortable and we can take our time to create beautiful and unique images.  However, a few times a year, we offer mini-sessions at the Olde Towne Pet Resort.  While our goal is to create beautiful portraits within a limited time period, it’s also to have fun during the process.  Attached is a link to a slideshow of some of our images from an event in May.   Smile alert:  you should expect to smile at least once while you’re watching this.  (There is music in this link.)
